I watched this video (see link) and it got me thinking about Freedom. Here's a few quotations about freedom that I thought were poignant. What is freedom? More on this another time. Enjoy the quotations.

Freedom becomes poignantly clear when you don't have it.
I'm in the enlisted Navy now, and we definitely sacrifice a lot of freedoms to do the job. I'm still euphoric about coming back to land, being able to leave and go out in town on my own, free to apply for colleges, or even just have a pizza that I like when I like it. Can't do that stuff when trapped on a ship, or standing guard in the desert sun inside a protective kevlar vest and helmet that really only cooks you from the inside out. That's for 5 hours too! Ugh.
